Website Redesign: Visual Solution
Skills:Branding, UX Design, Web Design
Client:Technology & Operations Council
Goal: Create a visual design that improves the navigation system, engages external audiences, and removes outdated content.
Challenge: This project was my first attempt at reimagining my organization’s web presence and providing a visual solution a reliance on lengthy descriptions. Translating the technical concepts into images required interviews with stakeholders, independent research and a lot of trial and error.
Process: The site is designed for two general audiences: members involved in topical work and potential members interested in learning about the council’s projects. The home page uses bold graphics to connect the concepts of the technical work with real life applications. These visual cues are echoed on the interior pages where for testimonial quotes, lists of the participating companies, and updates on the project’s plans form a recruitment tool on each about page. Since most of the work generated by these groups needs to be password protected, member-specific information and links are clearly marked.
Project Update: Since the original work was done on this site, we’ve done a redesign on the whole website.
